Which came first? Portafold or Edelbrock?

Which came first? Portafold or Edelbrock?

Post by Admin » Tue, 24 Oct 2017, 3:21 pm

Some people who are into their American and custom cars might have noticed that the Edelbrock badge looks incredibily similar to the Portafold badge.

But which came first?

I've been in touch with Edelbrock and got the exact time it was first used by them, and as I know the year they were first used on the Portafolds was approx 1967, I now know the answer.

The Portafold badge came first!

Edelbrock first had this badge:

Then in 1975 they changed to this one:

Then in 1980 they changed to this one:

Wanted: Any original Portafold, Ansfold or Mini-Motel brochures, adverts or magazine articles.
Also, any chassis numbers for the above caravans!
