Brand New Portafold Roofs!

My local GRP specialist, who has done several little repairs for me now (including changing my hinges), has come up with a price for producing brand new Portafold roofs. His main line of work is producing component parts for Sunseeker luxury boats http://www.sunseeker.com/, based in Poole just up the road from me.

He recommended making them out of slightly thicker (and therefore stronger) fibreglass than the originals. This would make them ever so slightly heavier, but nothing that would concern you when either towing or erecting the caravan. Other than this they would be exact in detail to the originals. The roofs would be just fibreglass and would not come with any catches, lifting handles or loop staples. These are though, apart from the roof catches, available brand new on the Parts and Spares page of the site.

It goes without saying that the more roofs that can be sold, the cheaper they'll be, and obviously the main expense is the cost of actually making the mould.

So therefore the prices will be as follows:

2 roofs sold = £937.50 each
4 roofs sold = £718.75 each
6 roofs sold = £645.83 each
8 roofs sold = £609.38 each
10 roofs sold = £587.50 each

Usual rules, reply if you're seriously interested...

We now have a roof mould made by the original manufacturer of the Portafold and they can make roofs to order. They can be found in the shop here: https://www.portafold.co.uk/parts_and_spares/roof.html
