Side walls

Good evening guys looking for a little advice on my new portafold
I'm looking at the top of the side walls where the centre clips are and It seems there is a cut out in the wall which in my case leaves a lot of play between the wall and the roof , should the top of the wall be straight and should there be a metal plate for the rotating clip to rest on also should there be a seal across the top of the wall.
