I joined the site in January, but since then went down a different route, going for teardrop trailer / tent setup instead. We've now decided that, actually, a portafold might be a good idea, so we're back to looking :) No rush, so going to keep and eye on here and ebay and see what turns up.
Maybe we'll make it to the Gathering next year.

Hello, fellow Portafolders (and Ansfolders). I'm Jeremy and I work for Land Rover on low carbon vehicles. However, in my spare time, I am building an Aristocat kit car (a 1950s XK near replica) and I also have a 1982 Classic Mini Van. I have a Land Rover Freelander and access to several big caravans but thought it would be fun to find something I could tow with the Mini - and something that is not just another white box. The Portafold fitted the bill and when Pandora's came up on the forum, I rushed up to Yorkshire before anyone else got there.
Work so far is a bit of tidying, minor fibregalss repairs and a respray in British Racing Green on the bottom section with the rest in white to match the Mini. New mattress covers and curtains are flying off the sewing machine. I've also fitted new rear lights and changed them to the individual round type 'cause I like them.
Jeremy.

Hi, we are John & Marie and we live in Sheffield, we have known about these little vans for years as they were on our list when we decided we wanted a caravan but unfortunately we ended up buying a Dandy trailer tent and then a Rapido Exportmatic because these were what came up for sale at the time. After having our 1st son and struggling for years with the Rapido (what a nightmare to put up) the arrival of son no 2 took us back to tent camping because it was easier, so we have a Jovi an Oztent and a Bell tent.

Now the kids have reached teenage and don't share our love of vintage events they don't want to come away with us very often, so we have decided its time to look for a Portafold and enjoy some time to ourselves.

Our eldest has just started college (car body repair & respray) and driving lessons and he does love classic cars particularly American! so hopefully this might be of interest to him too.

Oh and we have recently bought a Morris Minor which son is a bit horrified about (so uncool) but its going to be his first car if he wants to drive when he passes his test so he will have to just get used to it.

Hi, My name is Channa and I'm a folderaholic  my oh doesn't understand my addiction but stuff him haha. I started my collection in 2012 with an Esterel and have recently added to it with a Sherman Travelette project. I'm not sure of the date of him yet but he needs a bit of work to his roof and axle before he does his first public appearance.
they followed me home... Esterel S34,Sherman Travelette

Hallo peoples, Dave (alias TFM150K - which is my Morris Minor post-office engineer's van which you can see if you google TFM150K) signing on from LIncolnshire. I'm currently struggling to tow a Fisher Holivan around behind TFM and my Moggy saloon - I've had the Fisher for about 15 years and its done me good service but it's lived outside all its life and has got terrible damp problems and the frame is getting very poor - I'm a bit expecting to leave home soon towing a caravan and come back towing a flat-bed trailer! So it's time to look for a folding caravan - I've seen several Portafold/Ansfolds in my travels and they strike me as being ideal for my purpose which will be an awful lot of weekends and occasional longer forays. So I'm on the hunt (any suggestions/offers more than welcome and I don't mind travelling) PM ideal!

Hi all,

I'm Jo Withey from Cricklade, Nr Swindon.

A few of you probably know me from the Portafold Group on Facebook!

We bought a van (Jim) a couple of months ago and are doing it up through the Winter ready for the first bit of sunshine next year! I fell in love with them at Retrofest in 2014.

We do 1940's re-enactment with our WWII Jeep and Series 3 Land Rover but I am moving to the shiny side as I own a Morris Minor Traveller called Rosie who will be the main vehicle pulling Jim!

Love seeing how you decorate your vans and keep changing my mind on how to do ours. Much to my husbands annoyance!

Always happy to say hi and have a chat. Look forward to meeting up with you all!

Hi all we have just joined the group , we hope to have a Portafold by the end of the week. We have seen quite a few at vintage / classic car and camping shows and have been looking for one for around a year now. WE have a couple of Triumphs and a 1974 Avondale Wren which we have spent some time getting back to an original condition as possible.

Looking forward to meeting new friends at various events over the coming months
