Chassis Removal

We are coming to the stage where our Portafold could do with the body coming off the chassis so the chassis can have a full overhauls and look at the body to chassis mounting points for condition. Has anyone any tips for removing the chassis with the van complete i.e roof sides and ends still attach...

Re: Portafold Project

Hi Ben, the Portafold doesn't look too bad in your photos I've seen a few on ebay looking much worse.

Good luck with the restoration.

Re: Portafold wanted

There's been a few for sale recently but I'm afraid it looks like you will have to be prepared to travel if you really want one, we bought ours last year and we're based in sheffield but the one that was offered to us was in Wales. It was a Sunday afternoon trip and almost midnight when we got back ...

Re: Roof lining

A fine day at last and the roof is done! not an easy job and its not perfect in the fins but at least it looks 100 times better than it did with its flaky paint.

We wont be rushing to repeat the process but at least were still talking to each other.

Re: Roof lining

We now have the stuff for lining the roof and the rear wardrobes. For anyone who may be looking for this the stuff you need is not Veltrim, it's a similar product listed as easy liner from the company we bought ours from (harrison trim) and it is 4 way stretch as mentioned in another posting. We hav...

Wheel Bearing Adjustment

I have just checked the brakes on our Portafold to make sure all is well. When adjusting the wheel bearing is it normal to feel a little rock side to side with the road wheel fitted? I followed the Rubery Owen instruction but the bearing to me could be a little loose. Any help much appreciated. John...

New awning

We don't have an original awning with our Portafold so has anyone successfully used an alternative new one. Must be something quick to erect as we have a Jovi tent and Oztent which can both be adapted for longer stays or when the kids come with us, I'm thinking of one or 2 night stays when you might...

Roof lining

Right the weather is improving so its time to get the jobs done, we spent all day yesterday scraping the cracked paint off the Portafolds ceiling, still not finished but if it stays fine today we might just get there. Nightmare of a job since the wire brush didn't touch it and we've already removed ...
