Hi Bigbird,
This 'trim' part is one that Portafold would have made for themselves, rather than buying it in from an outside supplier. Fortunately, it's very easy to make at home out of aluminium sheet, provided you have some wood and a bench vice.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Replacement hub and drum
Hi Daniel, The Rubery Owen axle has hubs and bearings which are much larger and stronger than those found on modern axles carrying this brake-size, either trailers or cars. This makes it difficult to find a direct replacement type of hub. Could your damaged hub be repaired? If so, this would be your...

Re: 6th National Gathering of Portafolds & Ansfolds
Hi Matt, I thought I'd signed up for this event but I can't see any record of it on this forum. We're coming anyway, so please add us to the list if we aren't on there already.

Re: Fawley Hill Vintage Extravaganza
Well the wife is on-side; it fits in with her shifts perfectly - never been known before! Awaiting confirmation from my own employer but that is usually OK so I've booked in online for Friday & Saturday night camping. We are also Morris-towed, with a '53 Six series MS 21hp. See you there!

Re: Fawley Hill Vintage Extravaganza
Wow, that looks really good & it's right on me doorstep as well! I am certainly interested, how much will it cost? I shall doubtless have the usual pain & anguish from her indoors over her shiftwork patterns. Last time we went through this over some show I wanted to attend, I suggested I took a (fem...

Re: How much does the roof weigh?
Hi Anne, it isn't very heavy at all, in winch-terms. Buy the smallest, lightest, lowest-capacity winch you can find, & it'll still have a far greater capacity than you require. Our Ansfold roof weighs about 1cwt, & from memory, the smallest winch I could find lifted 5cwt. A Portafold's roof will be ...

Re: Rubber seals (again)
Oh heck, did I ask you to do that Matt? I don't remember anything about it; I have slept since then, many times of course, so recall was always going to be unlikely . It certainly wasn't my intention to put you to more costs than you incur already, but many thanks for going there! My camera takes ph...

Hi Jan, sorry I didn't correctly remember your name! It's been a while since I posted on here. If you'd like to send your email address, I'll send you some pictures of the tape. I have never found out how to operate Matt's Machiavellian photo-bucket system, I gave up on it a long time ago. Steve Lord

Re: Rubber seals (again)
Hi Vanessa, there should certainly be a covering over the joint between the folding side-walls & the hull. On my Ansfold when I got it, this consisted of the remains of a strip of plasticised canvas-type material glued to the top surface of the hull & also to the horizontal-when-unfolded face of eac...

Re: Interior Roof Lining
Hi AMc, You mention a problem with your internal 'belt-buckle' door latch not returning. Does it return OK when the door is open, & not when it's closed? I had this problem on my Ansfold's doorlatch & it was caused by poor hull rigidity! I discovered that if I stood an arm's length from the door whe...
