Hi i have recently bought a 1973 portafold . I have changed the shoes (austin A35/40) and the adjuster is fully back but i can,t get the drum back on .Is there further adjustment at the handbrake rods i can try? :problem:

Hi Riverside,

There is an adjuster under the drop-link part of the handbrake lever, a little way behind it on the long pull-rod going to the axle. This is where one takes up small amounts of wear, when the caravan's in use. Release this, & providing your linkage isn't seized there will now be plenty of clearance to refit the drums.
