I've had a look at other awning photos on the forum and ours seems to be a different design to the others. Ours extends sideways while the others seem to come straight out from the back of the portafold. I wonder how many different awning designs there were? There was no makers label on the awning as far as I can see.

I was sooooo chuffed as I got an "original" awning when I bought mine - but I think mine is half the size of yours.

I don't care what they say - size does matter, especially when on holiday :D

I was pleased when we found that it was an original awning. The previous owner said that it was a caravan awning that could be made to fit!
I've looked at all the photos available on the site but none seem to look like ours! It doesn't have a makers name on it. Were all the awnings made by the same people? :?:

Hello it looks very fine.

I'm curious what this is on your roof? As I have circled in the photo?

Hi Anders,

That little bracket had me confused for a while. Apparently it is there to hold up to 3 little flags. I am told that this was quite a common thing to do in the 60s and 70s. I'm assuming that the flags would be the pennant type things that were available at caravan rallies. It was a neighbour of mine that solved that mystery for me.

Thanks

Anth

Hi Anders,

As far as I know the brackets were a 1960's and 70's fitting. I've never seen them in any shops. Might be worth keeping an eye on eBay etc. to see if any turn up.

Thanks

Anth
