Portafold Project

Hi all
I'm Ben.. Quit my job in London last summer to renovate a dilapidated thatched cottage in Suffolk
Found a caravan in the hedge behind it.. This week I finally discovered it is a Portafold
Has been there for at least 9 years which is how long the cottage was unoccupied for.. The newspapers lining the floors inside date to 1997. I'm inclined to think it's been sat even longer than that though!
Tyres are flat and it's well and truly stuck until I clear the garden around it
But hopefully I'll restore it in time for the Gathering in August..

Hi Ben, the Portafold doesn't look too bad in your photos I've seen a few on ebay looking much worse.

Good luck with the restoration.

Well, the portafold has finally been moved.. I collapsed it and then we used a forklift to lift it out -- the stands have seized down and the tyres are knackered

Unfortunately I won't be taking the project on any further myself -- sold to a mate who got very exited about it when he first saw it, so it's going to a good home. I've told him about this forum and as it needs some parts replacing I suspect he'll be in touch

Cheers
Ben

Ben,

Tell your friend to give me a shout about parts, but tell him not to ditch the corner steadies, they'll need to be stripped and rebuilt.
