The Slightly Delayed Big 60th+1 Birthday Party of the Portafold (12th International Portafold & Ansfold Gathering) (i.e. 2021)

Help us set a new world record at the huge 60th+1 birthday party!

Ironically, the current record is 59 Portafolds and Ansfolds (we set that at the 2016 Newbury Retrofestival), so we want to smash this by getting well over 70 there this time. We have a lovely area that will take that number of caravans and the show itself is a fantastic event that will not disappoint. There really is something for the whole family.

So put the dates 13th, 14th, 15th of August 2021 in your diary now and get those dates booked off work early. Be part of a record breaking event that will go down in history.

Show Address: Newbury Showground, Priors Court, Hermitage, Thatcham, West Berkshire, RG18 9QZ

Don't book direct with the show organisers, just contact me (07771544419) to get your pitch saved.

Brand New Portafold Roofs!

Post by Admin » Sat, 24 Jul 2010, 10:08 pm

My local GRP specialist, who has done several little repairs for me now (including changing my hinges), has come up with a price for producing brand new Portafold roofs. His main line of work is producing component parts for Sunseeker luxury boats, based in Poole just up the road from me.

He recommended making them out of slightly thicker (and therefore stronger) fibreglass than the originals. This would make them ever so slightly heavier, but nothing that would concern you when either towing or erecting the caravan. Other than this they would be exact in detail to the originals. The roofs would be just fibreglass and would not come with any catches, lifting handles or loop staples. These are though, apart from the roof catches, available brand new on the Parts and Spares page of the site.

It goes without saying that the more roofs that can be sold, the cheaper they'll be, and obviously the main expense is the cost of actually making the mould.

So therefore the prices will be as follows:

2 roofs sold = £937.50 each
4 roofs sold = £718.75 each
6 roofs sold = £645.83 each
8 roofs sold = £609.38 each
10 roofs sold = £587.50 each

Usual rules, reply if you're seriously interested...
Wanted: Any original Portafold, Ansfold or Mini-Motel brochures, adverts or magazine articles.
Also, any chassis numbers for the above caravans!
