Making new cushions

Hi, all you soft-furnishing experts out there, a question for you! I've bought at great expense, a complete set of new foams & at even greater expense, a large roll of "Overboat" marine acrylic to cover them.
I'm finding the foam to be 'sticky', the fabric won't slide over it at all. Quite apart from the struggle to assemble the foam into the covers, I'm afraid they'll go out of shape constantly if the foam can't move about inside. So......how should I "lubricate" it? Dust with French chalk/ fit a nylon liner? Or is there another way?
Advice please!
