Hi

Bought back in 2006 and intended to work as occasional overnight and mobile office space, a heart attack in 2007 put paid to further work! :(

The Portafold is of unknown age and has been just sitting in my back yard since then. Opened it up for the first time in 4 years today and it's bone dry inside and no staining so all must be ok! :)

I made a start with mains hookup etc. but that will all need to be sorted by a qualified person. Also has 12v input (car lighter socket job) via a couple of battery clamps which run to the outside.

My wife has slept in it a couple of times at horse-related events and reported no problems (more stable in the wind than some of the other vans and horse transporters which were there!!).

The brakes had seized when I bought it so they were removed. The handbrake had been painted up and had never worked anyway. No idea of the serial number as that has been painted over several times before I got it.

Bodywork appears solid. Cushions replaced with a decent quality foam when we got it but could probably do with re-covering. Interior is plain marine paint - no frills! Comes with the original table and legs (which you use to make into double beds etc). I think the chassis has no problems either.

Also comes with spare wheel, wheelbrace, wedges and even wooden blocks for under the feet when on grass!

There's what may be an original Portafold awning and poles BUT we have never opened the awning etc so I would suggest it's only used as a template for perhaps making another one (or you could buy one of the drive-away awnings available). I have a key for the top door at the back (lock/handle works as it was replaced by me in 2006) and I may have some spare bits and pieces knocking around as well (I recall buying a lock/handle for the bottom door as well but never fitting it - will have to see if I can track it down).

I know that the windows need some attention (hinges and locks etc - the glass is all ok). There are some curtains on wires that we made up but you would probably replace anyway.

I'm open to offers. It neds to go to a good home - my wife wants the space back in the yard and I have other things I need to put there now. I have no reserve in mind but probably wouldn't entertain downright silly offers!

My best contact email address is xxxxxx (replacing at with @ of course!). I have a few photos which I can send to you. No external shots - it's plain white but quite stained as you would imagine after sitting outside for a while. I'm not averse to giving it a wash though if you really need an external shot.

I'm based in Lancashire. Buyer will have to collect as we now have a car with no towbar.
