"original" awning?

Post by Misty Meg » Mon, 12 Oct 2009, 5:39 pm

You mention that's an "original" - I'm really pleased to hear that is the case as I bought a Portafold a few months ago and mine looks like that!

They look like Mini ones, with Mini or Reliant trims.

my portafold for sale

Post by tigermart » Tue, 13 Oct 2009, 5:52 pm

I know it is an original awning as it is exactly the same as the one in the original Portafold brochure. As for the wheels I do bot know their origin. I was told by the guy I bought the van from that they were original as well. But I could be wrong and they could indeed be from a mini or Ferrari GTO!

lol, thanks very much, I'm still trying to get some that fit mine, and it's very difficult. By the way, good luck with the sale, it's a lovely Portafold! :D

Hubcaps again!

Post by txfsealord » Tue, 13 Oct 2009, 7:27 pm

Those are early Mini hubcaps, made of stainless steel with integral embellisher rims. They're fine on the early short hubs but they aren't deep enough for the long ones unless wheel-spacers are used & this compromises the wheelstuds' strength.

Yes it is a lovely van. I wish ours looked like that, & had that awning.....
