As my camera is still not working correctly I'm relying on other peoples pictures. Many thanks to Brian (BRI52) for his pics from the weekend.
We set a new UK record of 104 classic caravans over a 24 hour period. So well done everyone who came.
Most importantly, there were 19 Portafolds and Ansfolds at the show!

Where is the photo of our lovely webmaster Matt on the phone in his Portafold? I thought it was a good photo and I'm sure people who haven't had the chance to meet you would like to see your face??
Come on Matt upload it.

Vanessa, to make up for not posting your fantastic photo
I've included three pictures of me within Tina's photos, all of which will be shown in the next couple of posts.

Many thanks to Tina (pollythevan) for these photos from Melton Mowbray:
Bandits hold up the train to collect money for charity.
The police chase off the bandits.
There's one of me!
There's me again!

Part two of Tina's pictures:
My gazebo before its untimely death in the strong wings. And on the left of the picture, another of me!
Winner of the best cake baked in their caravan.
Winner of the best cake baked at home before the show.
Now get ready to be blown away; we were! Built by Fred Clark of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, these models of his Austin and Ansfold are truly astounding. The Ansfold folds down and lifts up just like the real thing. The brass corner steadies lift up and down and even the jockey wheel works and has the locking screw that holds it in the up or down position. In fact it's so accurate that if you lift the door end up with the bottom half of the door open it gets jammed on the wrong side and won't shut properly. Just like the real thing!
To quote Fred "I just made them out of come scrap wood and scrap brass."
And before you ask, he doesn't do commission builds... I've already asked.
Jockey wheel down.
Jockey wheel up.

I should've posted this up back in September when I last spoke to Nich but I'm afraid I forgot.
Nich wanted me to express his gratitude to everyone who came to the Record Breaking weekend at Stapleford. He said that they wouldn't have got over the 100 mark if it wasn't for the Portafold and Ansfold owners making the effort to come from all over the country.
They haven't got any immediate plans to do another record attempt, but if they do Nich said he'd let someone else do the organising...
