Interior trim

We're looking at Marine products from an outfit called Boyriven www.boyriven.co.uk They do a Marine Vinyl with a 1/8" foam backing with a fabric scrim on that, in 5 colours. It's patterned but not quilted. They also do a fluted material with the foam backing, this looks a heavier gauge & I presume i...

suspension question

Hi, I've now printed off & had a good look at the Rubery Owen service & maintenance instructions. According to that, the only trailing-arm units used on these vans were the square-section torsionbar ones, as on mine. So it isn't possible to realign your splines, as there are only 4 positions availab...

Tyres fouling wheelarches

Hi, on my Ansfold the trailing arms point downwards about 25 deg.with no weight on the suspension. I've got the square-section abutment with a leaf spring used in torsion so I can't give a spline position for your (presumed) earlier axle. I had this problem on mine, tyres fouling the wheelarch tops,...

Portafolds spotted

Hi Matt, I've never seen one at all. When we got ours the vendor didn't know what make it was so neither did we of course. I'd seen other types of folders at Morris Minor club rallies, where they're much prized. I trawled my caravanning-interested friends for a fortnight after our purchase until one...

Bottle-carriers

Hi, when I got our Ansfold it had a large bottle-box on the A-frame. Two 4.5 bottles rattle around in it, it's big enough (though not deep enough) for the next size up. I've not seen any others in the photos on this site with bottles on the A-frame. Why not? Is it a download issue or because they'd ...

Ansfold questions

Hi all I bought a late-model Ansfold recently, chassis no. 5-10010378, for restoration. It wasn't going to be for restoration but when I started stripping it down & realised how clapped it was I'd no choice. It had severe hull distortion, a straight-edge against the side seam had 1 1/2" daylight abo...

What do you tow yours with?

We (will be) towing ours with my old Morris Minor 1000 saloon, in the family since 1959 & owned by me since '72. It has a 1300 engine & can just about manage a "normal-type" caravan, but it isn't fun & the fuel consumption's appalling. The Ansfold, when refurbished, will be a revelation I hope! Stev...
