Re: Which Cushion Configuration?

Some peopler have all the luck  - mine came with neither cushions or sink unit  , although many seem to regard the latter as a mixed blessing. I'm sure that those who are afflicted with both cushions and sink unit will confirm that it was intended that the sink unit be used(propped at...

Re: Quietness

When the wind drops below a gale I'll risk opening the little beast up (haven't finished replacing all the hinges, yet  ), but the 4" of snow that was on it last week tends to put one off

Re: Classic Caravan Gathering - Official World Record Attempt

Is Stapleford 'oop norf' because it is only just north of the Wash, or is it Watford these days (not sure where the current 'line' is drawn) - its a 'beer thing' - the closer to 'the line' the more questionable the brew...... Hmmm, the eligibility rules are a bit steep for some of us -...

Hi Paul,

I was lucky enough to find mine on a local free-ads website this last Spring and I paid less than it cost me to buy the hinges to repair it, but I must admit I was lucky in that the owner really just wanted it moved from outside his house.

Good hunting!

Hi Misty, I would suggest that you are being over cautious. GRP tends to come as two layers: the resin-impregnated glass mat (which is where the strength lies) and the largely-cosmetic gel-coat (the smooth outer layer on the roof and panels). In the era when Portafolds were made the GRP mouldings te...

Hi Meg - you needn't worry about the fibre-glass, unless you mistreat it in some way it will probably outlast you  The longevity of fibre-glass is a regular subject addressed by the yachting magazines and the experts/scientists have come to the conclusion that, barring some sort of abuse, the ...

I think Matt had the right idea in getting a fibre-glass moulder to replace the hinges in that they tend to have nice big workshops and industrial tools to do the job with. I replaced two hinges last night (5 still to go :( ) and I couldn't have done any more without a break - 5mm rivets and a small...
