Hmmm, now I see where I went wrong - I thought scratching around outside with a bloody-minded Portafold, in the rain and the wind, was the accepted Portafold initiation right

Jan - I presume that's 'Viktor-the-Volvo' - the trike makes my Rover seem a bit tame

Matthew, how did you get your hinges done so quickly? I've managed one, so far, with the weather we have had :(

Bigbird - I've been musing over which of your fleet gets pressed into towing duty on the Portafold and trailer-tent...... :?

Hi Steve - I do not see why not because the highly-stressed hulls of racing yachts were made using quite low-tech PU (polyurethane) foam until relatively recently - try Googling: 'Core materials for sandwich panels' for some really anoraky stuff. The advantage of the low-tech foam sandwich se...

How about foam-sandwich construction? I appreciate that it still involves resin and mat to finish it off, but you could shape the pieces of foam to suit, stick them together (with a glue gun I think) before glassing it to finish. I have to be honest and say that I have not actually used the stuff, b...

The shelf/kitchen unit/bed was missing from mine, as well. Would I be right in thinking that this unit also acts as a back-rest to the lower cushions when not in place as a kitchen area/bed? If so, how does it work? How does it stay in place? I presume it is 2' wide and the length is sufficient to a...

If the pressure washing doesn't work (which, if I'm honest, I don't expect it to :( ) I suppose I could continue the theme(!) and paint it in a better colour. I did toy with the idea of ripping the quilting out and replacing it with an insulation sceme I saw in the Haynes manual on building a motorc...

I'm tempted to powerwash an area of the quilting to see if it will shift any of the emulsion - it can't do any more harm.......... can it? :? and the interior is devoid of anything that can be damaged.
