Re: 8th International Gathering of Portafolds & Ansfolds (2016)

Oh, no, The 2016 Gathering clashes with Cropredy (The Fairport Convention)!
I'll have to get The Tardis out of the garage....

Well, the self publicity marches on; my Portafold is in the Jan issue (3rd December) of Practical Caravan.

Re: Matching Mini and Portafold

Well, shiver me timbers, I'm beginning to look like a self publicist! It's a long story but my Mini and Portafold will appear in the January printed issue of Practical Caravan magazine. Worse than that, they're in the on-line version already including the dodgy blazer I wore at the International Gat...

Re: Restoration scotland

Don't be nervous of getting stuck in to a restoration. It's not rocket science! Have a root through some of the restoration info on the forum and see what you think!
How hard can it be?

Re: 7th International Gathering of Portafolds & Ansfolds (2015)

Well, thanks and congratulations to Matthew for a great event. Had a bit of trouble getting in on the Saturday morning but after that everything was smooth, friendly and entertaining.
Such an eclectic mix of stands!
Even the weather was spot on.

Lighting

Nothing makes the mood of a space more than lighting. Someone said that. Might have been me, of course. The Portafold gives special challenges. The usual halogen spots would probably get knocked off when folding the caravan down. I decided to install some recessed downlighters. There is space in the...

Re: Portafold wanted

Steve, I think that's normal. I've only once erected the caravan on my own and that was a nerve racking event. I had visions of the whole thing "parallelogramming" before the sides were up. I wondered about putting some extra fibreglass into the hinge area to beef them up. It just feels so fragile a...

Re: Portafold wanted

it looks like you will have to be prepared to travel if you really want one I have to agree; I went to Yorkshire for mine from Birmingham (not an unpleasant option!) Having said that, the nature of the Portafold makes it a relatively safe buy at distance. With no wood and therefore little risk of d...
