Yep that's the idea. I would connect the cables now to the original compensator, saves a lot of extra work. You will also need a keeper around pulleys to stop the cables jumping off an L shaped bit of metal bolted to the pivot bolt would do.

If anybody is looking for brake parts they are Lockheed 7" brakes as fitted to Austin A30's The backplates and expanders are A30 rear, the shoes are A30 front and rear,
Lockheed part numbers for the shoes 95497 and LB175 for a full axle set.

Just seen this, nice job, just one note the handbrake cable really should turn 90deg at the pivot point of the trailing arm (Mini's used a pivoting guide on the trailing arm) otherwise the hand brake cables could become lose/tight with the rise and fall of the suspension. You could have the scenario...

More work.
Wheels have been shot blasted and painted with light ivory paint, three for the porta and one in reserve. Just waiting for the paint to harden off.

After 7 years of non use I have taken over my brothers Portafold. So the restoration starts again. First job was to free off the hitch again. After freeing off with a copper mallet and plenty off Plus Gas there was no spring resistance. So to strip it down and clean out all the hardened grease. 4246...

The seal fits into a slot in the window frame here

You can get new rubber seals that are similar but they are a loose fit in the slot. I used self adhesive hollow D section hollow tubing and stuck it to the frame.

It is out their somewhere, Baines do it in black EPS 5 in their catalogue. I used the square type in white CRS 19.
