The Big 60th Birthday Party of the Portafold (12th International Portafold & Ansfold Gathering) (i.e. 2020)

Help us set a new world record at the big 60th birthday party!

Ironically, the current record is 59 Portafolds and Ansfolds (at the 2016 Newbury Retrofestival), so we want to smash this by getting well over 70 there next year. As of last year we have a new area that will take that number of caravans and the show itself is a fantastic event that will not disappoint. There really is something for the whole family.

So put the dates 7th, 8th, 9th of August 2020 in your diary now and get those dates booked off work early. Be part of a record breaking event that will go down in history.

Show Address: Newbury Showground, Priors Court, Hermitage, Thatcham, West Berkshire, RG18 9QZ

Don't book direct with the show organisers, just contact me to get your pitch saved.

Re: What type of insurance?

But if you take your little palace to a show event i dont think you'll be covered for £5 millions worth of public indemnity insurance, so... Turn up at the 'record' attempt and you can buy it for £3.50 for the year! Yes, the year! Bonus is, you'll meet new friends with Portafolds and many other type...

Motel or Twosome ???

Hi Keef. 'Fraid there's no way for sure without a "plate" to identify our 'van's. The guy I bought mine from assured me that it was a Mini-Motel and yours looks just like mine, apart from the rear light clusters. The original lights are three separate little 'round' bullet type, as fitted to most ol...

A drip proof ceiling might help

Hi all  Heres a benefit that helps. Take one upturned portafold roof and give it a good scrubbing. Let it dry~ Then get a pint of P V A glue and spread it all over the roof. But ~ only in the large middle square, let it dry. Next after choosing and trimming your "befitting" ceiling cloth SOAK ...

Awnings

Hi Knotty. At some shows ive often seen Gazebos being used as an awning the type sold by ARGOS page 22. Some even add them onto the end of an old awning to make a very long tube of living space, bit off putting to Jo public though who want to look in your van...

Hi Angie When i lock mine to the towcar i use a standard brass 1" d-lock around the handle catch. This prevents one from lifting the handle to release the ball. If i'm on a field i put a dummy ball in the socket - one that tightens into the hole and locks up. Bit expensive but you can use it ...

Scotland in Feb.........Brrrrr (blinkin half term)

Cheers Gordon that link is sound. Reason for cooler climes is avoidance of midges. Intention is to tour in "porty" with mountain bikes, son is looking for Balnain cycling paths and recons to scare me !
